Empowering Field Operations: Our OJT Digital Transformation Project for PMI

At Spailor, we recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Philip Morris International (PMI) on a comprehensive On-the-Job Training (OJT) digital transformation project — designed to streamline field operations, simplify reporting, and enhance training visibility across multiple regions.

Project Overview

PMI’s field teams operate in dynamic environments where speed, accuracy, and accessibility are crucial. To meet these needs, we developed an integrated web and mobile solution that allows real-time data collection, performance tracking, and feedback management — all in one centralized system. The platform currently supports over 119 active field users and 50+ portal users, ensuring that every training and operational process is captured, analyzed, and optimized.

Technology Stack

The solution was engineered using a modern Microsoft ecosystem to ensure stability, scalability, and cross-platform performance:

  • .NET Core API for secure and efficient backend communication
  • .NET Blazor for the responsive and dynamic web portal
  • .NET MAUI and WinUI 3 for native mobile and desktop applications
  • SQL Server for reliable data management
  • Linux Ubuntu Server for performance and flexibility in deployment

Our CI/CD pipelines enable seamless and automated deployments across environments — from Azure-based testing infrastructure to a production system hosted in Finland, ensuring reliability and fast updates.

Deployment Across Platforms

Last week, the mobile versions of the OJT application were successfully released on all major platforms:

  • Microsoft Store
  • Apple App Store
  • Google Play

This milestone allows PMI field teams to access the OJT system directly from their tablets, regardless of their preferred operating system — ensuring consistent functionality and experience across all devices.

Client Feedback

We’re proud to share that our client expressed their satisfaction through a verified Trustpilot review, highlighting the collaboration as “A smooth and efficient development journey” and noting how all enhancements were “delivered promptly and integrated into the system effectively.”

Conclusion

The PMI OJT project represents a successful example of how enterprise-grade software can transform field operations through thoughtful design, modern technology, and reliable execution.

Notes for you (do not publish):

  • You may replace “Philip Morris International (PMI)” with a more generic name like “a global FMCG leader” if you want to keep the client anonymous.
  • If you want to include app store links, you can add them under the Deployment Across Platforms section once they’re publicly visible.
  • The Trustpilot quote is paraphrased from your client’s actual review for readability, which is perfectly fine.
