Connecting Global Manufacturing Operations with Custom Software

For manufacturers operating across multiple countries, keeping production data synchronized with the central business system can become a serious operational challenge.

We experienced this firsthand with a manufacturing company whose headquarters and central database were located in Europe, while production was carried out at a factory in China.

One critical process was product packaging and labeling. Each product needed to receive the correct serial number and barcode based on the company’s central database — whether it was being packed into an individual box, a carton or a pallet.

We developed a custom barcode and production integration application for the factory’s packaging computers in China.

During each production batch, the application connects directly to the company’s central database and generates unique, validated barcodes according to the company’s own production rules. This ensures that every packaged product, carton and pallet can be accurately identified and traced back to the central system.

The important part was not simply generating barcodes.

The real challenge was integrating a local factory operation with a global company’s existing data and business processes without forcing the company to change the way it operates.

This is where custom software can create significant value for manufacturers.

Every manufacturing company has processes shaped by its products, production methods, quality requirements, supply chain and existing systems. These processes cannot always be handled effectively by standard software.

With 20 years of software development experience, we help manufacturers digitize and integrate their unique operational processes — from production and barcode systems to ERP integration, automation and custom business applications.

And our involvement does not end at deployment. We provide ongoing support after implementation to keep these critical systems running reliably.
